WELCOME TO SEASON 08/09

As football season is approaching finals time shortly everyones attention will be directed to the new cricket season, which starts on Saturday October 1st 2008 (Seniors). This season daylight savings also commences the same week so start times will begin at 1.00pm.

This year we will have 7 Senior teams which will include the resurgence of the 1 day squad. Junior sides will be decided later once all registrations are submitted. Once again Junior Registration Day is  7th September 2008 at 10.00am onwards at the club rooms, more details to follow.

Indoor Training:  Indoor training commenced Monday 4th August at Topline Sports in Bayswater and as expected Sean made it extremely enjoyable, we may have found Kokko's new role as an opening left arm bowler. Numbers were good and as the season is getting closer we need to increase these numbers so that we can get the jump on other clubs. It was good to see an ex-player Brenton Pearce coming back down for a run.

Good luck!: On behalf of the Committee and club we would like to wish Lachlan Johns best of luck as he will be playing Senior District cricket in the upcoming season, this is obviously a loss for Heatherdale but I am certain that in the future we will hear the name L Johns in bigger and better times.

Subs: This year the following structure will apply for subs:

Seniors: $320-00 plus $5-00 per week (arvo tea)

Students: $200-00 plus $5-00 per week (arvo tea)

Life Members: $220-00 plus $5-00 per week (arvo tea)

One Day Team: $20-00 per week

There will be no social club levy this year as it has been included in the cost of subs.

Juniors Subs - see Junior page.

Updates: The net area has been cleaned for the start of outdoor training and the council has erected 3 large rubber mats at the back of each net, this will protect the nets and also the balls.

Confirmation has been received from the council that a small pavillion will be constructed at Simpsons reserve this year, an exact time line has not yet been set however when further details are available we will post them on the website.

Congratulations: Congratulations to Peter and Briony Kokken on the news they are expecting their first child.

****Website will be updated monthly until season commences after each committee meeting***

This weeks results can be found on the Senior and Junior result pages.

Sung to the tune of "The Road to Gundagai"

We're the team that will fight for our colours Blue and White, we are the boys from Heatherdale

For the wickets we are taking, and the runs that we are making, will take us to the final flag, final flag

There's no side with the pride that can take us in their stride

We are the boys from Heatherdale
