CLUB HISTORY The Heatherdale Cricket Club began in October 1965/66 as "Parkview Sports and Recreation Cricket Club". This year we celebrate our 42th Season. Our first Junior team was an Under 14 side in 1969/70. Since our inaugural season we have fielded teams in each age group. And as many as 10 junior teams in the one season. We have had tremendous success, promoting cricket for the youth in our area, which is our main objective. Teaching young cricketers to enjoy the game whilst striking up long term friendships. We have also been lucky to have won our fair share of premierships. (Last season the Under 14a's were premiers). We are pleased of the fact that the Heatherdale Cricket Club Senior Club is predominantly represented by players who have commenced their career with our Juniors. In fact our ten of our First XI of season 2006/07 started their cricket with the Junior club. The club is committed to the success of our Juniors and are well aware of the importance of their development. The future of the club is in their hands. People who you will associate with during the season commenced their cricket in the Juniors, they include Jon Cadzow (Club Captain/Life Member) Tom Anderson (President/Life Member), Andrew Kovassy (Under 16's Team Manager), Michael Van Zuyden (Junior Co-ordinator/Life Member). During the 80's the Junior club merged with Vermont Uniting Cricket Club. The timing of this event was critical, we found that the area was growing old, and as a result the population of the next generation in the area was diminishing. We were able to maintain a strong base to meet the future head on . Now we find that young families have moved into the area, and have contributed to our strong position we are experiencing today. This new generation is creating their own history and will continue the tradition of those who donned their whites before them. We are always looking for new players to introduce this great game to. No matter what age and ability. Our philosophy is to give everyone a fair go. CLUB UNIFORM All players are required to wear cricket whites. A Club hat will be provided to new members to the club. Our club colours are Royal Blue and White. The club "Baggy Blue" is available for purchase.
